You can easily swap in ham and cheddar for a different twist.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;h2&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ingredients&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/h2&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;1/2 cup white flour&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;1 tbsp baking powder&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;2 tsp sugar&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;3 tbsp margarine or butter&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;3/4 cup buttermilk&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;2 large egg whites&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;About 1 cup diced pepperoni (small cubes, not slices)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;About 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Pizza sauce, for brushing&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;h2&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Directions&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/h2&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;In a bowl, mix whole wheat flour, white flour, baking powder, and sugar.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Cut in margarine or butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Whisk buttermilk and egg whites together, then add to dry ingredients and stir just until combined.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Fold in pepperoni and mozzarella.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, knead gently about 4 times, and shape into a flat round disk.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Cut into wedges (like a pizza) but keep pieces together as a circle, or cut on the prepared baking sheet.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Transfer to the baking sheet if needed. Brush tops lightly with pizza sauce and, if desired, sprinkle a little extra mozzarella on top.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Bake about 20 minutes, until golden and cooked through.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;These are excellent warm from the oven and also pack well once cooled.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;This Amazing Alfredo Sauce is rich, creamy, and very simple, as long as you use real ingredients. It’s a fantastic base on its own or dressed up with pancetta, ham, or prosciutto.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;h2&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ingredients&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/h2&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;1 cup heavy cream (whipping cream)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;2 to 2 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;1 stick unsalted butter (1/2 cup)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;2 tbsp chopped garlic (jarred minced garlic works well)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;&lt;em&gt;Do not substitute half-and-half for cream or margarine for butter—if you’re going to indulge, do it properly!&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;h2&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Directions&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/h2&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Add the garlic, then slowly pour in the cream, stirring constantly. Increase the heat slightly and bring just to a gentle boil, stirring all the time.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Let the mixture reduce a little (about 2 minutes).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Slowly add the Parmesan cheese, stirring until fully melted and smooth.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer a few minutes until slightly thickened. Bring to a boil, then cover.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Simmer gently for 90 minutes on the stovetop or in the oven at 325°F (165°C). Remove the onion halves.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Add the carrots, potatoes, and pearl onions. Perfect for cool-weather nights or holiday menus, it’s simple yet full of flavor.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ingredients:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;1 large butternut squash (about 3 lb), halved and seeds removed&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;1 Tbsp olive oil + extra for drizzling&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;½ cup chopped shallot (≈ 1 large shallot bulb)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;1 tsp salt&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;4 garlic cloves, minced or pressed&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;1 tsp maple syrup&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;⅛ tsp ground nutmeg&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Freshly ground black pepper, to taste&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;3–4 cups vegetable broth (24–32 oz)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;1–2 Tbsp butter (or olive oil for dairy-free)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Instructions:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Place squash halves cut-side down, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt &amp;amp; pepper. Roast 40–50 mins until tender and golden. Cool ~10 mins.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;In a large soup pot over medium heat, warm 1 Tbsp olive oil. Add chopped shallot and 1 tsp salt; sauté 3–4 mins until softened. Add garlic, cook 1 min until fragrant.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Scoop squash flesh into a blender (discard skin). Add maple syrup, nutmeg, black pepper, and 3 cups broth. Blend until creamy. Add remaining broth if too thick, stir in butter or olive oil.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;Pour back into pot to reheat, adjust seasoning with salt &amp;amp; pepper. Serve hot, optionally garnished with toasted pepitas or extra black pepper.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;p class="block-p"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Final Thoughts:&lt;/strong&gt; This soup balances cozy and refined without heavy cream.
