Community giving and outreach

Giving back to the community was engrained in Marnie since childhood. The daughter of community minded parents it was only natural that giving back would become synonymous with the Getting You Home Team and Marnie. From food drives, toy drives, community events, leading a neighbourhood group, and direct giving to United Way, Compass Food Bank, Mississauga Food Bank, Eden Food for Change, Royal Lepage Shelter foundation and more, you will find Marnie and her team, giving without any expectation of return. It's part of who we are. A portion of all commissions are donated to our philanthropic giving.

2022 Community recap

Community Building and outreach

What a year 2022 was.  Pandemic restrictions lifted.  We were cautious and thrilled and so many of us were overwhelmed with all that had occured in the two plus years.   In February we gave out over 10000 lbs of ice melt to our neighbours somehow managing the delivery just as the freezing rain began.

March - Our first neighbourhood clean up brought members of the community out to tidy up during the spring thaw.   Thanks to the City of Mississauga for the garbage bags and picker uppers.    March Break Giveaway raffle of a robot kit.

April - Word Scrambles in the neighbourhood.   Puzzles for the kids to solve and Easter basket draws.

May - Happy Mother's Day.  One very lucky Mum/Mom/Mama won a beautiful flower arrangment and dinner for her family

June:  It's Dad's turn.   Our lucky winner of 4 level 100 Blue Jays tickets sadly got Covid BUT, his Dad stepped in and took the kids and their mum to the game.

Scholarship Winner announced!  _ Congrats to Charlene on a well deserved scholarship.  Each year we award student(s) in our neighbourhoods a scholarship.   Look in your mailbox for how to apply or click the link for more details.

July- CANADA DAY-  This year was the first year in several we could come together as neighbours to celebrate.  It was also a difficult year as we reconciled our past in Canada.   We celebrated with over 1000 of our neighours in Pheasant Run Park with games, prizes, a bbq, facepainting  and the splash pad.   We collected food for the Food bank and accepted donation for Every Child Matters.   Originally we had a Movie In Park scheduled but due to rain we had to move it.

August. - to School draws and Marnie was sidelined with a knee injury.  That did not stop her though

September - Our ill fated Movie in the Park in July turned into it's own event and will continue yearly as our Back To School Movie in the Park night.   As a community we enjoyed Encanto and loved watching the kids dance and sing, enjoying popcorn and cotton candy being made and distributed by our team

October - Our annual Pumpkin Giveaway and Food drive.  We collected over 8000 lbs of food this year and we thank our neighbours for their generosity in what has been a challenging year for many with inflation.

November - Family Photos - We enjoyed two days of families gathering at our office on Ridgeway for holiday photos and collecting unwrapped toys for Toys or Tots, which were collected by Peel Police 11 Division for distribution.  We suprised our famiies not only with digital images but framed photos of their families for the holidays.

December - Holiday season - Our Clients discovered "Santa's survival kits" on their doorsteps as we spread holiday cheer and took a little time off to recharge for 2023.

Wait until you see what we have instore this year!!!
